I wrote this song in 1994 while reflecting on Psalm 37. It works quite well as a stand-alone song both for private and corporate applications.
Delight In The Lord (Ps. 37:1-12)
Do not fret because of evil men
Nor be jealous of the one who does wrong
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass to the ground
Trust in the Lord and do good
Dwell in the land and feed on His faithfulness
Delight yourself in the Lord, delight yourself in the Lord
And He will give you the desires of your heart
Delight in the Lord
Commit your way to the Lord in trust
And He shall bring your desires to pass
He’ll bring forth your rightness and justice like light from the sun
Trust in the Lord and do good
Dwell in the land and feed on His faithfulness
Delight yourself in the Lord, delight yourself in the Lord
And He will give you the desires of your heart
Delight in the Lord
Rest in the Lord and wait patiently
Do not fear the evil man’s prosperity
For yet a little while and he shall be no more
Though you look he’ll be gone, and the world will be yours
Just trust in the Lord and do good
Dwell in the land and feed on His faithfulness
Delight yourself in the Lord, delight yourself in the Lord
And He will give you the desires of your heart
Delight in the Lord
Delight in the Lord
Delight in the Lord
